New process to accelerate cord blood collections! A change in the process of how mothers are informed of the opportunity to donate cord blood should significantly accelerate collections for the pilot public cord blood program, according to the Rhode Island Blood Center’s Chief Medical Officer.

How to participate in the cord blood program! Cord blood will be collected by the Rhode Island Blood Center staff who will be at Women & Infants Hospital during the day, Monday through Friday. Some obstetricians may also participate in the collection program.
