Eric

RIBC Volunteer and Life Touched by Blood Donation

You'll find Eric French in Providence and Boston these days, pursuing a music career that only a few years ago seemed like a distant dream.

A graduate of the Berklee School of Music, he learned from some of the most notable musicians today about how music forms the backdrop, the fabric of society, how its words and tones help us understand that life is something to be cherished.

Eric understands that, because not too long ago life seemed so fragile. Nearing his 13th birthday, Eric was diagnosed with leukemia, a devastating diagnosis for anyone, but one that makes dreams for a young teenager seems so distant.

In more than two years of treatment, during which he received numerous blood and platelet donations, Eric overcame the disease. He is tremendously appreciative of blood donors, of the support he received from his family the Tomorrow Fund, and of the treatment he was given by physicians at Hasbro Children's Hospital.
